Developed in the 1960s by British Aircraft Corporation and Aerospatiale France, this amazing machine flew on the edge of space, at TWICE the speed of sound, being even much faster than military jets. Operated only by Air France and British Airways, its technology was several decades ahead of its time, being unsurpassed even today. Sadly, it was retired in 2003 due to high operational costs. It still remains as the one and only successful supersonic airliner ever made.
